For those that picked up a Saiga 12

I know quite a few of us have picked up Saiga 12s lately and the 10 round magazines are hard to come by.

I just picked up 2 of these 10 rounders here:
http://www.saiga-12.com/proddetail.a...%2DCLEAR%2DMAG

http://www.saiga-12.com/prodimages/A...CLEAR-MAGS.gif

There were 4 left in stock after I bought mine. I would rather a GIM member get them if you guys need them.

While these are still great mags, AGP says they are not as strong as the black ones. You have to decide if clear is better than stronger.

The only mod I would do is put a skelton stock on the back...... Pistol grip looks cool but it is NOT ideal. Depending on the shells you are using(slugs) you can knock yourself clean out.

Re: For those that picked up a Saiga 12

If you plan on using anything higher than the standard five round capacity magazine provided with the shotgun (or ten round with the rifles), you may want to do a little research into 922r compliance. The feds may take a dim view of using what they may consider non-sporting magazines in an unmodified weapon. Check out the Siaga12.com forum re this issue. I hope this may help.

Re: For those that picked up a Saiga 12

Just make sure when you go to the range factory Mags are in there.(Keep the Good stuff at home or in the back pocket when no ones looking)

Which leads me to another question: Has ATF ever "raided" a gun range and started to check firearms for complience??

Anybody heard of such a thing happening recently???

When/if I have to use my 10rd mags in my Saiga, those opposing that use may be the target.

Or

What you go do is run to the nearest Gunshop/smith and have them install if for you.... It wont be much maybe 20 bucks if that.

Re: For those that picked up a Saiga 12

TA asked: "Which leads me to another question: Has ATF ever "raided" a gun range and started to check firearms for compliance?? Anybody heard of such a thing happening recently???"

I think if you do some research, you are correct in your beliefs, it just does not happen (yet). It will be an add on charge or THE CHARGE if you do something that is unjustified or justified in that order. Keep your ducks in a row and you will have no problems. If you replace the stock with an American made unit, that alone will reduce your foreign parts number by one. So I believe that if you are going to purchase a new stock BUY AMERICAN. It can only help to get to that magic number that offers compliance, it also keeps the $$$ here at home.

Another point, not to be critical but if "you" (that is a you to all out there) own a Saiga, working on it, is almost part of the mystique of ownership. Get over it, get to know it, and how it works. There are enough references, videos, and information at Saiga12.com you can do just about anything to them yourself. Who knows, you may become the next prophecy over there with some new alteration that has yet to be done.

He told me point blank he may have about 22 in stock

I told him no one else seems to have them Thats right, he said, because they are tied up at the docks pending approval. That Russia and American stand off has not been fully hashed out yet. His particular shipment somehow "slipped through the cracks" before the hammer fell.

The staff there are busting out 14-17 hours days packing and shipping. Said he has NEVER seen anything close to this is all his years.

I think he said they have a few but they are customized so that are in the 7-800 dollar range (Muzzle brake change, extra high cap mags and stuff) I still think they are good deal If I was in market I would scoop one up pronto.

The Russian situation is not going to fix itself anytime soon. So the present inventory is drying up like water on hot pavement.

True! Another entrepreneur creating parts for this specialty market. From what I've read he stands behind his product too. A great product at a fair price (when compared to "the other" S-12 drum supplier. What more could you ask for?

Yeah I think there was BIG Blowup with him and Alliance arms. They tried to put there Wraith maker head to head against the MD-80.

Alliance basically altered his product and then made a youtube video claiming it was inferior. well THE ENTIRE SAIGA FORUM jumped on there @$$es$ so bad when you look at the videos now you cant leave comments. Thats how many people came to the defense of the MD-80.

If they could do it all over again They would have just shut there mouths and let Mike be.

Alantic has NOTHING IN STOCK but they just wont admit it....... they make you send a email only for them to tell you no.

They have the WORST DAM CUSTMER SERVICE.....just write OUT OF STOCK under the item and dont waste nobodys time thinking that they hit paydirt

Instead of sending people nasty grams:

SOLD OUT AND NOT SURE WHEN WE WILL GET MORE 11/23

Sorry due to the recent political change we have experienced a wave of panic
buying and are sold out at this time, we are unsure when more will arrive
and are not taking any orders or waiting list due to a uncertain incoming
units, please check back with us in 3 -4 weeks maybe the situation will
improve.

Sold out 11/10

They have a piss poor business model.

The truth is out there if you look. I am glad that you found it!

Alliance Armament AKA "Wraithfaker" is a company that is not very well regarded over there. To use their name is actually much worse the cussing . They even had a "best use for the Wraithmaker drum" thread quite some time ago, one of the best uses was determined to be a doorstop.

Wow...........

I rememeber when I scooped mines up for 324 I really didnt know how fortunate I was..

But I soon found out when I called back about less than 60 days later and had the dealer tells me he wants 550.

The way how things are going that same 7.62 will be fetching 750 before the year is over and and soon as obama make a passing statement about About black rifles the opening bids on them will start 1300-1600 easy.

Someone around here posted the AWB part 2 legislation and the 4th Rifle on that list was SAIGA.

Whats my point :That was dam good investment you made and will apreciate substainally :ok:

Yeah, when I left the gun shop with my GF I told her that I didn't get the deal of the century on it or anything. That said, I had the cash, I knew that Saigas were on the AWB2's hit list, and didn't want to be without one when stuff gets REALLY stupid. That's part of the reason why I opted to buy locally too. There's too much uncertainty to be depending on UPS to deliver my only "battle" rifle/weapon, IMO. lol

As soon as the budget allows you have to get another one for spare parts ASAP.
